The decentralized module µCAN.4.ao-BOX features four analogue outputs which optionally provide a voltage signal (±10 V)
or a current signal (0–20 mA). The digital process value is scaled to an analogue output signal in a rugged aluminium
die-cast casing. The CAN interface supports CANopen and J1939 protocols.
Due to its rugged casing with protection class IP66 the µCAN.4.ao-BOX is ideally suited for field use. The analogue signals
are transmitted a short distance to the sink, avoiding errors of analogue signals. Via the CAN interface the module can be
fully configured and the analogue variables are output.
Up to four analogue signals may be output; the signal type (voltage / current) is parameterised via CAN bus.
The digital output values are transmitted to the µCAN.4.ao-BOX via CAN bus. The CAN bus bitrate is adjustable from
50 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s. A terminating resistor can be activated via a hardware switch. The module’s CANopen protocol
complies with CiA 301, CiA 305 and CiA 404. Both 11-bit identifiers (CAN 2.0A) and 29-bit identifiers (CAN 2.0B)
may be used for process data.
