µCAN.4.ci-BOX — 4-channel Counter and I/O Module

The µCAN.4.ci-BOX is equipped with four fast counters of up to 100 kHz. The CAN module acquires and processes
binary pulses and transmits them to a higher-level system.

Features

The four outputs are switched according to the counter value and may be used as fast control signals. The outputs
can carry up to 1.4 A and are short-circuit protected.

  • Protocol: CANopen CiA 404
  • 4 counters (100 kHz)
  • 4 I/O channels, freely configurable
  • Aluminium die-cast casing, protection class IP66
  • Output current up to 1.4 A
  • Device state / error indication via LEDs
  • 3-conductor connectors
  • Output voltage range 5 … 50 V

Connectivity

Up to four control signals may be connected to the module. Optional scaling of the measurement units can be
parameterised via CAN bus.

  • 4 fast counters
  • 4 I/O channels, freely configurable

Communications

The digitised values of the µCAN.4.ci-BOX are transmitted via CAN bus.
The CAN bus bitrate is adjustable between 50 kbit/s and 1 Mbit/s.
A terminating resistor can be activated via a switch inside the device.
The CANopen protocol complies with standards CiA 301, CiA 305 and CiA 404.
Both 11-bit (CAN 2.0A) and 29-bit (CAN 2.0B) identifiers may be used for process data.
